When completing MDS assessments in SigmaCare you have the option to trigger the CAA's prior to the entire MDS being completed. This allows for more time to conduct further assessment of the care area, prepare CAA documentation and care plan each triggered CAA, if the decision has been made to care plan.

  1. Click on the Trigger CAAs link that appears at the top of the Resident MDS Assessment Summary page.triggerCAAs.gif
  2. Once the CAA's have been triggered each triggered CAA will appear at the bottom of the page.
  3. Click on the IconView.gif icon under Actions for the triggered CAA to review the information on the CAA Notes page.

It is important to note that CAA's trigger based off of certain data entered in the MDS. If manually triggering the CAA's before that data is entered, expected CAA's may not be triggered. If this does occur, you may need to manually trigger the CAA's a second time once the necessary information has been added to the assessment.
